TÜRKIYE AND SYRIA CHARITY CHESS TOURNAMENT

4 Round Swiss, USCF Regular and Quick Rated
Open, U1600, U1000, and Unrated Sections
LOCATION: Rachel Carson Middle School, 13618 McLearen Rd. Herndon, VA 20171
TIME CONTROL: 30 minutes, 5 second delay
TROPHIES: Awarded to the top five players in each section. In the event that two or more players tie first with 4/4 points, a blitz playoff (5 minutes, no delay) will decide what place trophy they will receive.
ENTRY FEE: $30
On-site registration will end at 9:30 a.m. We accept cash or a confirmation receipt from UNICEF that you donated via our fundraising page. Players who register after 9:30 a.m. and before the 2nd round will receive a half point bye in the 1st round and play on from the 2nd round. If a player registers after the start of the 2nd round, then all previous rounds missed will be marked as a forfeit (this does not affect rating).

EVERYONE IS WELCOME! (People of all ages, backgrounds, and chess skill level are welcome to play.)

NOTE FOR PLAYERS:
1. Please bring chess boards and clocks. Spare equipment is limited.
2. Masks are optional for vaccinated players.
3. There will be a 15 minute lunch break between rounds 2 and 3. Otherwise, rounds begin immediately after all games are finished and pairings are complete.
4. There will be a bake sale at the tournament! (All proceeds from the bake sale will be donated to UNICEF USA)
5. We recommend to wear red and/or green outfits to support Türkiye and/or Syria.
